A LIVRES ANCIENS
Les livres sont divisés en deux catégories: les livres anciens ou rares et le soi-disant "antiquités modernes". La ligne de démarcation, entre les deux, est traditionnellement placée en 1830.
Jusqu'à cette date, le livre était considéré comme un objet artisanal, avec les avantages et les inconvénients qui en découlent ; toutes ses parties constitutives (de l'emballage du papier à la reliure) étaient le produit de processus manuels, ce qui explique pourquoi, jusqu'au début du XIXe siècle, le tirage moyen était d'environ 300 exemplaires.

All cast members have signed the cast list: John Gielgud, Lockwood West, Richard Pearson, Avril Elgar, Malcolm Ingram, Hugh Paddick, Diane Fletcher, and Isabel Dean, who has also signed a dedication on first page ("To Robert, wishing you all the best, Isabel Dean").
